Featuring Dr. Iheoma U. Iruka
A quality early childhood education system in Maryland must be an equitable system. Join us for Iheoma U. Iruka, PhD who will speak about how to best to ensure excellence for young, diverse learners, especially Black children. This includes reforming existing systemic racism, examining non-traditional pedagogical approaches, new public policies, and training geared towards early education practitioners.
Dr. Iruka is a Research Professor of Public Policy and the Founding Director of the Equity Research Action Coalition at the Franklin Porter Graham Child Development Institute at the University of North Carolina. She is engaged in projects and initiatives focused on how evidence-informed policies, systems, and practices in early education can support the optimal development and experiences of children from low-income and ethnic minority households.
This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are eligible for 1.5 Continued Training hours. Participation is limited so advance registration is required by October 12.
